I’m taking the risk of putting my personal information on tumblr in the hopes that people will be kind and generous enough to help. As some of my friends and mutuals know, my family situation is pretty bad. My father is highly manipulative and emotionally abusive to my mother, sister and I.
Growing up under his thumb, victim to manipulation, gaslighting, and mental abuse, has always been stressful and terrifying beyond words.
Recently the situation escalated - he became physical. When I tried to stand up to him, he repeatedly punched the bathroom door I was hiding behind to put space between us, attempting to shove into the room, presumably to get at me. That was the most frightened I have ever been, and the worst panic attack I have ever had. Not for the first time realized what a volatile and potentially dangerous situation my family and I are in.
After much debate, I’ve decided that I need to get out of this house ASAP. Unfortunately I am unemployed, and my father controls finances to the point where I’ve had to save up for months to even gather the little money I have to my name.
It’s not enough for a plane ticket, and that’s where I need help.
I have a safe place to live, and a plan once I get to the city. Eventually I want to gain residency and have a steady job, enroll and attend school again, and if I’m lucky, eventually have a place for my mother and sister to stay if they can get away from him.
